On October 14, Ukraine celebrates a double holiday - the Day of the Ukrainian Cossacks and the Feast of the Protection of the Holy Mother of God, whom the Cossacks consider to be their patroness.

     Цього року 14 жовтня вперше оголошено в Україні неробочим днем , because we have someone to honor and whom we should not forget and pass on military traditions and achievements to future generations. Throughout their history, Ukrainian Cossacks have proven that they are defenders of their land and their faith. And that is why their traditions are especially dear to modern Cossacks, who are forced to defend the independence of their Ukraine.
